Omaima El Khalil Sings for Lebanon and Palestine in Istanbul

Al Mustaqbal – Issue 2443 – Sakafa Wa Founoun – Page 8 Upon the invitation of BIANET, Omaima El Khalil celebrated the closing ceremony of the world conference (for independent and free journalism), held is Istanbul this year. Omaima interpreted many songs during the event, dedicated to both her Lebanese and Palestinian people, following the genocides they were subject to by Israelis. Omaima had expressed her position in her speech: “I think that the objectives of this Forum match ours especially that we are surrounded by models who became singers or actresses on the one hand, and the images of wars in this miserable world led by crazy people on the other.” The committed Turkish singer SEMA was also invited by Omaima to interpret with her a “Duo” song. Were present as well at the forum participants from European and American countries. The only Arab delegation, a Palestinian one, couldn’t attend because the borders in occupied Palestine were closed.
